Are you a fan of American rock? Then undoubtedly this short Linkin Park bio would interest you. The band formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills, California. They became known internationally in 2005 with the release of their album, ‘Hybrid Theory’, which was a Diamond certified album by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The group originally consisted of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Rob Bourdon. They were three friends from high school who shared the same musical ambitions. They soon decided to form a band which they later called Xero and then went out to recruit David Farrell, Joe Hahn and Mark Wakefield.

As with any other band, they experienced great difficulties, especially during their early years trying to land a record deal. This caused internal friction between the members and, as a result, Wakefield and Farrell decided to leave.

As a replacement for Wakefield, who was their lead singer at the time of his departure, they decided to hire Chester Bennington and he became an official member in March 1999. It was around this time that they changed their name from Xero to Hybrid Theory. And as part of any Linkin Park biography, they eventually settled on that name as a tribute to Santa Monica’s Lincoln Park.

After many attempts to get a major record label to sign them, they finally got lucky with Jeff Blue, who was then vice president of Warner Bros. Records. Jeff was able to sign them to a record deal that resulted in the band’s debut album in 2000, ‘Hybrid Theory’.

The album was a sweet success for the group because it contained nearly a decade of their unpublished work. The album sold more than 4.8 million copies. With their hit single, “Crawling,” the band won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. They were also nominated for two other Grammys, Best Rock Album and Best New Artist. This is a rare feat to accomplish for a band with only their debut album. Needless to say, the awards helped sell more albums and launched the group into the consciousness of the global rock music scene.

Other successful albums followed. On March 25, 2003 his second album, ‘Meteora’, was released. The name was taken from the rocky region of Meteora in Greece. By the end of that year, the album sold more than 3 million copies and immediately went to first place.

Their next album was ‘Minutes to Midnight’, which was released on March 15, 2007. The band took fourteen months to complete. Since then, the album has sold more than 8 million copies.

His most recent album was ‘A Thousand Suns’, which was released in September 2008. It was a concept album that deals more with nuclear war and war themes. It mainly got mixed reviews from critics.

This is a short, and certainly an incomplete biography of Linkin Park because the band still has a lot to offer its fans. With his ingenuity to combine a wide range of musical styles including alternative rock, nu metal, rap rock, and hip hop; the band will remain a truly unique group still going strong after more than a decade in the industry.
