What should you do if you are dating a guy and he takes time to call you back? It is infinitely frustrating to be with a man who is lazy when it comes to returning promised calls. You wait all day to hear from him and when you do act like he didn’t do anything wrong. Is it the correct answer to bother with him or is it better to pout until he realizes the error of his ways? Neither of those is actually the best approach you can take. If you want me to call back sooner rather than later, you just have to do one thing. You need to back off.
An important difference between men and women is that we respond to words and men do not. Of course, men listen and can communicate effectively, but there is a big difference in how men react to women. If you want your guy to do something or if there’s a problem in the relationship, you’re naturally going to talk to him about it, right? It seems the most logical thing to do. However, depending on what the problem is, it is not always the best.
A perfect example is when he takes the time to call you back. You react by telling him that it bothers you and it hurts when he does. You think he will hear the anguish that is causing you and you assume that he will remedy it by calling more, right? That is unlikely to happen. In fact, what you think he will hear and what he actually hears are two very different things. Hear a woman who is desperate and needs attention. He does not listen to a confident and self-confident woman. Their likely reaction is to call even less and eventually end the relationship. Complaining about something that he considers insignificant will not be attractive at all.
When you step back, you will actually respond more to that than if I told you what you want. When a woman creates a certain distance in her relationship, it is obvious that she is not happy with something. It also suggests that you are losing interest quickly. If your guy cares about you and feels like you might not like him as much as he used to, he’ll quickly get busy turning things around. His behavior will improve and he will suddenly be very attentive and loving. That will include calling you back when they say they will and calling you even more often.
