Many choose to have this wonderful dog as a pet, and many want to know how to properly train the Alaskan Malamute. There are some special considerations to take into account, but in general, the training of this breed of dog is similar to the training of other breeds.

Spend time together

Malamutes love being around people and they love being around their family. A good way to start training them is to bond with the dog and spend time with them. If the dog is attached to you, he will be much more likely to spend more time learning about you.

Use positive rewards

Alaskan Malamute training can be much faster if you use positive rewards, rather than negative rewards. They respond well to positive commands and treats, so use them instead of yelling or negatively reinforcing the dog. Remember that you should always be the following with your training:

Start training young
