Cosmetic Injectables Course – Start Your Career As a Nurse

Cosmetic Injectables Course

The cosmetic injectables industry is growing rapidly and the demand for highly trained and experienced nurses in this area continues to increase (The Aesthetic Society, 2019). Completing a nationally accredited cosmetic nursing course is one of the best ways to prepare yourself to begin your career as a cosmetic nurse.

AACDS’ 52852WA Graduate Diploma of Cosmetic Nursing and Injectables is a postgraduate qualification that provides Registered Nurses with comprehensive, specialised cosmetic training in dermal therapies and cosmetic injectables. The clinical component of this cosmetic nurse course is delivered at Aspire Training Clinics – fully functional student clinics that allow students to gain hands-on practical experience in cosmetic medical procedures and cosmetic injectables.

Effective skin assessment is a vital skill that cosmetic injectables course must possess. This is a process that involves a visual analysis of the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous layers as well as underlying bone and muscle structures. It involves evaluating the skin’s appearance, colour, texture and tone using tools such as a dermatoscope and woods lamp. It also involves identifying and analysing the vascular, pigmented or fibrotic lesions that may be present on the skin surface and/or within the dermis.

Cosmetic Injectables Course – Start Your Career As a Nurse

This is an essential element of the cosmetic injectables course that we run at FaceMed. The directors of this Brisbane-based cosmetic clinic, Nurse Marina and Nurse Jana, have over a decade of combined experience in the aesthetics field. Their extensive training as cosmetic nurses and doctors has allowed them to develop a highly personalised approach to the treatment of patients, resulting in exceptional outcomes.

FaceMed’s two week cosmetic injectables course is a Shadow/Foundation/Advanced Course in which participants receive the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to start their careers as cosmetic nurses. They will learn over 15 different cosmetic procedures on live cosmetic models, including the injection techniques used for facial lines and wrinkles and dermal fillers. The course will cover everything from consultation and client history through to assessing the face, facial muscles and arteries as well as the required anatomy for injections.

Students are supervised throughout the practical training by one of our trainers and will spend time learning how to work with a range of cosmetic models, so that they are prepared for their future practice in the real world. In addition, they will have the opportunity to participate in a mock surgical case.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, practical training is a key aspect of any cosmetic injectables course. Hands-on experience allows participants to refine their injection techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors. Through supervised practice sessions, students learn proper injection methods, including needle placement, dosage calculation, and injection depth, while also gaining insight into patient assessment and consultation.

The course includes the approved indications of both muscle relaxants and dermal fillers and will enable participants to confidently administer a range of treatments such as forehead lines, glabellar lines, crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, lips and cheeks.
