Farming Ulduar Relics for Gold

Farming Ulduar Relics

The Sons Of Hodir, the place for the best shoulder enchantments and some cool ice mammoth mounts, you can complete the daily quests or drop off Ulduar relics. Relics are similar to BC representation items for the Aldor or Scryers.

Once you’ve completed the initial K3 quest chain and become neutral to The Sons Of Hodir, you can turn these relics into Lillehoff.

the mayor (66.61). A batch of 10 will give you 250 reps (275 for humans), they stack up to 200. There are always plenty of people growing these and selling them in AH for a nice profit.

I’ve been testing various locations in Storm Peaks, looking for areas with the best drop rate, fastest respawn time, and quiet little spots. The figures they give are relics per hour and the gold you would get by selling/auctioning the other drops at the lower price.

1. Snowdrift Plains (32.48)

Among the various Iron Dwarf settlements, here is a pretty stretch of white snow, literate with Stromriders and a few Jonmungars. There are quests around here but they usually avoid these mobs, by the time you run from the start (34.47) to the end of the snow (28.40) the mobs will have spawned back to the start.

2. Frostfield Lake (70.60)

Next to Dun Nifflem, a frozen lake, the only mob here is Brittle Revenants. There is a daily quest for Sons OF Hodir here but they respawn very quickly, there were other players here the whole time I was killing these and I never ran out of mobs to kill, I went aggro while eating/drinking and leaving the lake. and in the snow for a complete diet.

3. Terrace of the Makers (36.40)

The only thing here is the keepers of the library, I did not see anything useful from these items from gray vendors. There are a lot of mobs here and the quests here involve getting information from the data cells and blowing up the stone chunks, other people here are more interested in that than killing the mobs.

4. Narvins Crib (31.48)

There are 3 parts to run here, there is an outer ring in the snow, a stepped ring and several levels going up around the Colossus.

I started by killing the outer ring, killing the entire inner ring and going up 2 levels. Waiting for it to go down to reappear. You don’t want to spend too much time on the platforms as there is a lot of walking/flying between each mob, the bottom is more concentrated and many can be thrown without moving.

Fjorn’s Anvil Seams to be the most populated farming area, I went there and tried to kill Seathing Revenant’s, but there was too much competition, 6 other players, all after the same mobs. I’ll come back when it’s calmer and bring more relic farming spots.

5. The howling shelter (67.47)

The cave is filled with Scion Of Storm, easy to clean in the cave. Not much drops here, except the everlasting air, bad for relics, and low gold rate.

6. Breath of Bor (37.74)

This is my personal favorite place, there is a triangle from the starting point up and to the left and then back to the right. The place is full of harpies, Frostfeather Witches and Screecher’s. They are flying behind the Stormcrest eagles that fly here.

and they are grouped in 3 or 4’s. They have a good respawn rate and there is little competition as there is only 1 quest for this area which involves killing a few of each harpy type. Good drops of gold and good fabric of these.

7. Val’kyrion (26.61)

There are two mobs to kill here The Aspirants and the Nascents. The seekers we seek drop the relics and greens, while the nascents simply drop the vendor’s gray. The applicants are grouped in 2 outside each of the cabins, one to the left and one to the right of each entrance.

8. Fjorn’s Anvil (77.63)

relics 66

Gold 282

This is the best place to farm relics, the figures shown are an average of 5 different hours spent in the area. Here you are just killing the sea revenants, they drop relics, eternal fire, some vegetables and items from vendors. There is a lot of competition for these mobs, twice I came and left because there was too much competition. My server’s farmers are here all day (they don’t know the places that generate more than 500g per hour :-)), in a hot streak you can collect up to 85 relics in an hour, and in a slow streak you’re down. less than 50 relics per hour. If you choose to farm here the key is to mark mobs before other people, hunters and warlocks are great for this area as they mark and let pets do the rest while you target the next mob. In addition to this farming here, there’s a daily quest involving the anvil, which means there’s a lot of traffic going through here as well.
