Samsung Galaxy S Vs HTC Desire – Which Android Phone Is Your Favorite?

Android remains the biggest threat to Blackberry and Apple’s iOS operating system. Going through many different types of phones, it’s fair to say that Android has the market in stranglehold. Sure, there are millions of Apple owners, but Android is available from a plethora of phone manufacturers, making it hard to ignore. The two best phones that have been available for a while now on the Android platform are the HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy S. They are both equally impressive with each other, but which one should you go for if you’ve narrowed down your list? Even just these two?

Despite the heavy competition from Apple, these two phones cannot be ignored and since Samsung has the market share when it comes to direct sales, it is fair to say that Samsung could have won this battle before it even started. The Samsung Galaxy S is an amazing feat of engineering. It’s small, thin, light and beautiful, and yet it packs more technology than you can shake a stick at. It has Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen capability that is profoundly impressive and arguably unsurpassed yet, as well as an impressive 4″ screen size that is perfectly suited for both usability and portability.

There are a host of apps and technology you can take advantage of with the Galaxy S, including multimedia apps, social networking, a TV jack for direct connections to your HDTV, as well as a number of music and video formats. There’s a 5-megapixel camera and HD video capture and playback. Thanks to the screen full of life, those HD videos are simply unbeatable. Backing up all of this technology is a blazing-fast 1GHz processor that handles it all nicely without slowing down or juddering when pushed to the limit.

It’s versatile, beautiful, and perfect for men and women, and it’s packed with features that blow the competition away, but can it beat the equally impressive HTC Desire? We’ll see….

The HTC Desire is another Android phone that puts a damper between your instant decision on your next smartphone. If it were as simple as choosing the Samsung Galaxy S, more than 5 million of those phones would be sold each month. As it stands, the Desire is certainly desirable and that’s mostly due to the 5-megapixel camera, 1GHz processor, excellent web-browsing capabilities, and sheer number of apps. Once again, you can download those new apps from Google Play and customize the phone to your heart’s content.

Overall, there’s little when it comes to choosing between the HTC Desire and the Galaxy S. The Samsung is a bit sleeker and has a better screen, but the HTC is sleeker, slimmer and runs just as fast. In the end, it all depends on personal choice. If you want to be a little different from the rest, choose the HTC. If you want the best of the bunch, chances are the Galaxy is the one for you, at least until the Galaxy S3 comes out.
