True leaders must be ready, willing and able to FIGHT for what is right!

If one hopes to be a real, effective, and quality leader, one must be ready, willing, and able to consistently STRUGGLE, for, what is right! Effective leadership must be consistently based on doing the right thing, especially when it’s not convenient, etc. True leaders avoid the tendency to procrastinate and are able to take proactive, thoughtful, and timely actions to deliver what their stakeholders and organizations need and want! This often requires a high degree of commitment, discipline, self-confidence, professional training, experience, expertise, judgment, and hopefully real wisdom! With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly consider, examine, review and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and why it is important.

1. face the facts; future; faith; furnish; fruition: You are not leading by denying reality and/or inconvenient truths! Rather, one must consistently understand, acknowledge, and face the facts, fully! A true leader must earn the faith of his stakeholders, based, not on his rhetoric and/or empty promises, but, rather, on his strategic and action plans and preparation! How can one create the best possible future for the group and its stakeholders unless one does all one can to provide the best possible direction and carry it out?

2. Integrity; ideas; ideals; ideology; intuitions/instincts; imagination: One must commit to absolute integrity, if so, to make a difference, for the better! Your ideals should align with your organization’s core ideology! You must possess the level of insight and instinct required to present quality, relevant and sustainable ideas, and articulate an inspiring and motivating message to those you serve and represent! An often overlooked asset to leading effectively is developing and utilizing a well-developed, relevant and sustainable imagination!

3. Goals; generate good will; Greater good; growth: What goals and priorities might resonate with voters? If a leader is not willing to commit to doing this, how can he generate goodwill and serve the common good? Only, when one does it, the organization, the experience, the level of genuine, necessary and necessary growth, will make it relevant and sustainable!

4. Heart head; human; cicatrization: It takes the ability and willingness to consistently use the finer aspects of one’s logical and emotional components, in a head/heart balance, to make changes, to improve! He must be, in reality, as well as perceived, being, affectionate and humane! Instead of being adversaries and polarizers, true leaders are healers, one!

5. truths; prompt; time tested: Which truths resonate with a leader often determine whether they will pursue the finest and most timely actions and understand important, time-tested principles.
