HP-MP double wash in Maplestory and how it can help mappers survive

In Maplestory, hit point (HP) flushing can be a great way to increase survivability in the game and mixing up Magic Point (MP) flushing correctly can greatly increase the effectiveness of HP flushing. This is usually called a double wash.

Double flushing is the best way to flush hit point that is available in all versions of Maplestory. It’s only for those who can afford it, though as it is. VERY expensive to do many times. Those who don’t want or can’t spend much on hit point flushing will be better off doing a normal HP flush.

There are 2 different tactics for double washing: single level double washing and multilevel double washing. Technically both can be done on the same level, but the explanations will see it as if the character is doing the multi-level wash on different levels.

The monolevel wash is adding points to MP first (MP wash), and when you reset with the ap reset (steps 5 and 6 of the standard wash) you add the point to HP. From there, use another ap reset to take out another point of MP and add it to the desired stat. This is best done if you have enough Int to add up to an MP gain that is more than the mp you would lose after resetting the MP. The list of steps will now look like this:

1. Equip Int gear right before leveling and level up (to get more MP when leveling)

2. Put an AP in MP

3. Use AP reset to take out an AP from MP.

4. Check what your minimum MP will be and compare it to the current MP

5. If the max mp after reset is greater than the min mp calculation, go to step 6; otherwise go to step 9

6. Put AP point into HP

7. Click OK/yes on the AP reset window

8. Use AP reset to take out an AP from MP.

9. Put the AP point on the desired stat

10. Click OK/yes on the AP reset window

11. Repeat from step 2 if you have no more points

12. Equip your regular gear and continue

Note: Single level flushing may not be possible in all versions of Maplestory. It depends on how ap resets are scheduled.

Multi-level washing is similar to single-level washing, except that it spans multiple levels instead of one. Technically, this technique could be done by alternating the reference points added at the same level, but it will be explained as if each set of points were done at alternating levels. Basically it’s all about HP flushing on one level and MP flushing on the next.

The general step-by-step design would look like this:

1. Equip Int gear right before leveling and level up (to get more MP when leveling)

2. Check what your minimum MP will be and compare it to the current MP (only if you are in the HP wash stage)

3. Put an AP in HP/MP. Switches between HP and MP at each level (or each point you add)

4. Use AP reset to take out an AP from MP.

5. Place the AP point on the desired stat

6. Click OK/yes in the window

7. Repeat from step 2 if you have more points

8. Equip your usual equipment and continue

9. When you are about to re-level, start from step 1 and add the stat (hp or mp) you didn’t add to the level (or point added) before
