Introduction

Well, there you go! Apple’s latest operating system, iOS7, was unveiled by Apple’s top leaders at the altar of Apple’s developer conference. Although it’s been a woefully late update, it does its best to portray the delta in front of its previous avatar.

Although not promising heaven, this new operating system presents features that Apple hopes to attract more converts and, consequently, reduce the base of devotees of other operating systems, mainly Android and Windows.

So what are these characteristics?

Monitor: The flabby, beveled app icons, once a rage but lately lost their luster, have been put on a diet plan. Now they are flat, but brighter and seem to appear on the screen. The “dark circles” surrounding the icons are gone, replaced with a refreshing new color palette and complementary fonts to justify the different label in iOS7.

User Interface: Usability concerns have led to a layered approach in which content is given prominence over others such as menus and windows. These interface layers become translucent to allow content to come to the surface so you know what you are doing right now. This eliminates the need to switch between your tasks and access a menu item.
